Waiting for Christ

Are you ready? Are you waiting?

Look up the sun it shines
The moon is still in place , still a’waning
You still feel some sorrow, it may be tomorrow
The Lord’ll be your light, ever reigning

We have this once on Earth
A walk to death from birth
We tread upon the land, light and tender
We are planted shoots, in Christ we have our roots
Our role upon the earth: display His splendour

It will happen fast, today may be the last
There’s more than this, heaven and salvation
On earth it seems like small, we heed Jesus’ call
Mature into  a mighty nation

We have this once on Earth
A walk to death from birth
We tread upon the land, light and tender
We are planted shoots, in Christ we have our roots
Our role upon the earth: display His splendour

We have this once on Earth
A walk to death from birth
We tread upon the land, light and tender
We are planted shoots, in Christ we have our roots
Our role upon the earth: display His splendour.

Isaiah 60:19-22
The sun will no more be your light by day,
nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you,
for the LORD will be your everlasting light,
and your God will be your glory.
Your sun will never set again,
and your moon will wane no more;
the LORD will be your everlasting light,
and your days of sorrow will end.
Then all your people will be righteous
and they will possess the land forever.
They are the shoot I have planted,
the work of my hands,
for the display of my splendor.
The least of you will become a thousand,
the smallest a mighty nation.
I am the LORD;
in its time I will do this swiftly.”

Hebrews 9:27-28
Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
