Too much joy for the blues

Be careful what you do or say, ain’t no sense in secrets

In the end you reap just what you sow
Rich in heart, He does His part
Angels sure to know which way you go

Tell my big brother the shape I’m in
Please put in a Word  for me
Saint Peter may just shut the gate
You had your joy you see

Ain’t  too much joy brother is there enough
Sensed the shape I’s in
Won’t you put in a word for me
Maybe I’ll see you again

Tell my big brother the shape I’m in
Please put in a Word  for me
Saint Peter may just shut the gate
You had your joy you see

Tell my big brother the shape I’m in
Please put in a Word  for me
Saint Peter may just shut the gate
You had your joy you see.

Psalms 51:17
My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart
you, God, will not despise.

Luke 16:19-26
The Rich Man and Lazarus
“There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.
“The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’
“But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’

Unity, liberty, & love

 Unity is love, Acceptance God-given

Let’s not fight over non-essentials
I’ll show love, you show patience
Meet  at The throne with His credentials

Liberty is one thing, love is above
Love is above every other
What Paul is stating, ain’t no room for hating
Every single human is your brother

We are in the world today
We’re human and we’re spirit
When we’re choosing unity
We are right there near it

Liberty is one thing, love is above
Love is above every other
What Paul is stating, ain’t no room for hating
Every single human is your brother

Liberty is one thing, love is above
Love is above every other
What Paul is stating, ain’t no room for hating
Every single human is your brother.

Romans 14:1
The Weak and the Strong
Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters.

Debt

Sin is a debt I continually owe

I’m like the man born blind
I’ve seen the Son, know He’s The One
I’ve found All I’ll find

Worship is my one response
Being brought to Life
I‘ve been bailed, sin was nailed
Paid at Cross of Christ

Loving others now my goal
My one way to be Him
Law fulfilled, Christ once killed
Through love I let ’em see Him

Worship is my one response
Being brought to Life
I‘ve been bailed, sin was nailed
Paid at Cross of Christ

Worship is my one response
Being brought to Life
I‘ve been bailed, sin was nailed
Paid at Cross of Christ.

John 9:35-38
Spiritual Blindness
Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and when he found him, he said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?”
“Who is he, sir?” the man asked. “Tell me so that I may believe in him.”
Jesus said, “You have now seen him; in fact, he is the one speaking with you.”
Then the man said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped him.

Romans 13:8
Love Fulfills the Law
Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.

Actual impostor

What faith have I, am I actually real

Is my offering pleasing
Can’t conform, can transform
God’s will for me ain’t a teasing

In our thoughts we think we’re all that
We grasp for more than we oughta
We can all relax, just face the facts
We’re all His son or daughter

What is a man, just blood and bone
Without the spirit, nothing
He blows along, sings his song
Whole time believes he’s bluffing

In our thoughts we think we’re all that
We grasp for more than we oughta
We can all relax, just face the facts
We’re all His son or daughter

In our thoughts we think we’re all that
We grasp for more than we oughta
We can all relax, just face the facts
We’re all His son or daughter .

Romans 12:1-3
A Living Sacrifice
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is —his good, pleasing and perfect will. For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

God sustains

 God created me and you

Dreamed  us up and made us
Placed  us in the land we’re in
Heard our cries, inlaid us

God sustained both me and you
God saved us all
God sustains us to be true
Place our lives , bow all

How can I give all to God
I’ll give all I can
What is possible with our God
Impossible with man

God sustained both me and you
God saved us all
God sustains us to be true
Place our lives , bow all

God sustained both me and you
God saved us all
God sustains us to be true
Place our lives , bow all.

Deuteronomy 26:5-10
Then you shall declare before the LORD your God: “My father was a wandering Aramean, and he went down into Egypt with a few people and lived there and became a great nation, powerful and numerous. But the Egyptians mistreated us and made us suffer, subjecting us to harsh labor. Then we cried out to the LORD, the God of our ancestors, and the LORD heard our voice and saw our misery, toil and oppression. So the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, with great terror and with signs and wonders. He brought us to this place and gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey; and now I bring the firstfruits of the soil that you, LORD, have given me. ” Place the basket before the LORD your God and bow down before him.

Luke 18:27
Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”

New slave

Old guy was slave to sin

Old heart was bent
Unwilling spirit, though right there near it
New heart Heaven sent

I’ve a New song to sing
I’ve a New heart to bring
New way to behave
New slave

Wouldn’t’ve known I could ever obey
Couldn’t’ve seen the Light
Every breath led down to death
Had the wrong heart in the fight

I’ve a New song to sing
I’ve a New heart to bring
New way to behave
New slave

I’ve a New song to sing
I’ve a New heart to bring
New way to behave
New slave.

Psalms 51:10-12
Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

Romans 6:15-16
Slaves to Righteousness
What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means! Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey —whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?

Prophecy and Psalmody

586, what a year, Babylon burns it down

If you're alive in 585
Enslaved under new crown

Jeremiah, looking back
Sees what once was royalty
Egypt flirted, then deserted
Hard lesson to learn on loyalty

Judah gone, exiled out
City now deserted
Royal once, now a dunce
From God their eyes averted

Look to Jesus, therefore
Since we’re so surrounded
Run you're race to see His face
Perfect faith He founded.

Lamentations 1:1
1 How deserted lies the city,
once so full of people!
How like a widow is she,
who once was great among the nations!
She who was queen among the provinces
has now become a slave.

Hebrews 12:1-2 (ESV)
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Status of kings and duties of slaves

Strange  how we have both sides
Two sides active in one
Presence of Christ and pressure of sin
Only have Peace through the Son

Status of kings and duties of slaves
All mashed up into one
Born to boast, we’re given The Ghost
Til our suffering’s done

Hope is so powerful, hope is eternal
Hope is our boast in His glory
Our active hope, His course to cope
While we live in His story

Status of kings and duties of slaves
All mashed up into one
Born to boast, we’re given The Ghost
Til our suffering’s done

Status of kings and duties of slaves
All mashed up into one
Born to boast, we’re given The Ghost
Til our suffering’s done.

Romans 5:1-5
Peace and Hope
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Down to the bookstore

Go on and check out the Bible

Only one you can look up
God wrote the Bible
Love letter to all who book up

What is the Bible anyway
It’s our guide to glory
He’s Relational, He’s sensational
He writes the larger story

Drop what you’re doing
Engage with Him today
It ain’t rules to fix some fools
It’s listening to Him say

Let’s go down to the bookstore
Let’s you and I seek God
We’re our brother’s keeper
Avoid the land of Nod

Drop what you’re doing
Engage with Him today
It ain’t rules to fix some fools
It’s listening to Him say

Drop what you’re doing
Engage with Him today
It ain’t rules to fix some fools
It’s listening to Him say.

Genesis 4:16
So Cain went out from the LORD’s presence and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden.

Return to You

 I’m a man of wrath

I'm of the earth
Far from You I’m just sad and weak
I have turned away, no good to do or say
Meritless, my one choice is seek

Return to you, my shepherd
Return to You, my God
All my life depends upon Your keep
Return to you, my shepherd
Return to You, my God
Without You this man is asleep

Thank You that You’re good
You are omnipresent
Faithful  beyond comprehension
When there’s no one righteous, not one understands
Still You’re Shepherd, absolving our dissension

Return to you, my shepherd
Return to You, my God
All my life depends upon Your keep
Return to you, my shepherd
Return to You, my God
Without You this man is asleep

Return to you, my shepherd
Return to You, my God
All my life depends upon Your keep
Return to you, my shepherd
Return to You, my God
Without You this man is asleep.

Mark 14:37-38
Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Simon,” he said to Peter, “are you asleep? Couldn’t you keep watch for one hour? Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Romans 3:10-12
As it is written:
“There is no one righteous, not even one;
there is no one who understands;
there is no one who seeks God.
All have turned away,
they have together become worthless;
there is no one who does good,
not even one.”

Constant courting

For  you to you through you babe

It’s constant courting
I give myself up for you babe
My mind and self still sorting

I’ll commit to cleansing
I’ll present you clean
Show you shameless, holy, blameless
Love my King and queen

Royal pair we all are
Christ  gave Himself for us
First appointed, crowned, anointed
Changed to Royal from dust

I’ll commit to cleansing
I’ll present you clean
Show you shameless, holy, blameless
Love my King and queen

I’ll commit to cleansing
I’ll present you clean
Show you shameless, holy, blameless
Love my King and queen.

Ephesians 5:25-28

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

Tide is rising

We pass each other on the beach

Pretend our lives are sweet
We pass the dogs like table salt
At least they’re within reach

Tide is rising
Waters high ( I need a shoulder to lean on)
Tide is rising
Waters high ( I need a boat I’m seen on)

Why cant we hug like it’s ‘99
Our hearts in sync back then
All it takes is a renewal
We can rise high again

Tide is rising
Waters high ( I need a shoulder to lean on)
Tide is rising
Waters high ( I need a boat I’m seen on).

Unhindered

 Long  as we stay focussed

We seek and we find
Teaching, bold in proclamation
We then run our race, marked out for us all
Run to Christ, He built and owns The Station

He’s sitting in the throne room, initial work all done
Christ endured the cross, scorned it’s shame
Our race to run, fix eyes on the Son
Keep heart for good to glorify His name

What happens if we lose heart
What if we look away
What tangles us in our web of woe
The world of weariness, death the end of sin
Unfinished race, no place or show

That’s the thing with Jesus
He’s there to fix our eyes
Always and forever He’s alive
Up to us to seek Him, saints surround so seek Him
He’s our second chance to survive.

Acts 28:30-31

For two whole years Paul stayed there in his own rented house and welcomed all who came to see him. He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness and without hindrance!

Hebrews 12:1-3

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Quiet blessings

How did His children not be quiet

Why did they grumble
He led them through with much ado
The least they have is humble

He led them through, He leads us too
We’re still prone to noise
Born to bless, He said yes
I am, you’ll see my joys

We’re prone to doubt, we haven’t seen
So long and yet He tarries
If we could see , why wait for free
We’d see the cost He carries

He led them through He leads us too
We’re still prone to noise
Born to bless, He said yes
I am, you’ll see my joys

He led them through He leads us too
We’re still prone to noise
Born to bless, He said yes
I am, you’ll see my joys.

Deuteronomy 8:4
Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years.

Mark 14:60-62
Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, “Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?” But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer.
Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?”
“I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
